Just walk a few steps to get from airport to hotel? It's now possible in São Paulo! A footbridge giving direct access to the Congonhas airport terminals has just been officially opened, taking you straight to ibis Congonhas, within just a five-minute walk. Its guests will no longer have to stride along Washington Luiz Avenue, one of the busiest and most transited routes in the city, to catch their flight.

In 2050, 70% of the world population will live in a town or city, so optimizing and increasing urban mobility is therefore now one of our priorities. The city of São Paulo is a cultural capital, a financial center, industrial hub and a world all of its own, teeming with activity, night and day.
So, AccorHotels has participated in the project to renovate the Comandante Rolim bridge, a much-used route to Congonhas international airport, located in the heart of the city.
On 19th January, access to the footbridge was reopened, following its renovation. AccorHotels contributed R$1.2 million towards this work, that’s 30% of the total investment! In partnership with ASPA (Congonhas Airport Bridge Association) and São Paulo City Hall, AccorHotels has succeeded in offering a safe new solution for urban mobility in Latin
America’s largest city.
“We're very happy to contribute to this urban mobility project, located just opposite one of our hotels, the ibis Congonhas. We’re improving access not only for our guests coming from the airport, but also for people living in the surrounding area who use the footbridge every day. AccorHotels is and will always be a partner of choice when it comes to improving the cities in which we are located”, said Patrick Mendes, CEO of AccorHotels South America.
